Impacts America Latina
On September 23rd, was born in Quito (Ecuador) the third Impacts continental organisation,
« Impacts America Latina ». Indeed, 20 Capital and Metropolitan Latin American Cities signed – or undertook to sign – a Memorandum of Understanding which plans to define the status and elect an Executive Board before 30 October 2004. The City of Quito was appointed as First President and will provisionally manage the Secretariat of the Organisation. Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Medellin (Columbia), that were volunteer to organize the next conferences were elected as Vice Presidents.
This is the culmination of a process initiated in 2003 and the concrete result of the efforts engaged by the City of Quito. The important support provided by Barcelona and Geneva, also greatly contributed to this success. Further collaborations are currently being set up between these European cities and Latin American ones.
