CITEAIR II Final Conference Rome,
24 June 2011

Cities and regions all across the world are facing exposure to high levels of air pollution and the emerging impacts of climate change. Designing, implementing and monitoring mitigation measures, and informing the public about air quality issues are tremendous challenges for policy makers and authorities. The CITEAIR II project has developed tools to support the monitoring and management of air quality in cities, and offers solutions to inform citizens on air quality. The project is now drawing to an end, and we would like to invite you to the CITEAIR II final conference to share our knowledge, experience and tools with you to help improve European air quality. The CITEAIR II Final Conference will take place in Rome on 24 June 2011.

The conference will examine:
- Why is it important to provide air pollution information to citizens?
- What is the best way to provide European air quality information, and what is included in this information?
- What are the benefits of linking air pollution and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions into an integrated emission inventory, and how can this be used by cities?
- Can a mobility indicator describe the traffic situation in a city? On a European scale, what is the importance of such benchmarking activities?
Target group:
The workshop is targeted at experts and decision makers in the fields of air quality and transport.

We look forward to seeing you in Rome!
